Life Lately: Reflecting, Making the Tennis Team, Freshmen Orientation, & Korean Classes?!

Hey everyone! ♥ If you remember, I actually told you guys that I was going to a Korean Church Retreat not too long ago. I actually got back last week and I can say it was an amazing experience! The trip was 4 days, 3 nights at a Christian University a few hours away from home. There was over 1,000 Korean-American teens there and the vibe at Worship was so amazing...

♡ Back to School Ulzzang Fashion! ♡

Annyeong friends! It feels like forever since I last did a fashion post~ Actually... I think this might be my first fashion post on this blog! Yay! I dub myself as a "fashion and lifestyle blogger" but, I never really post any fashion related things..lol. I'll try harder to have more fashion posts for you guys! :)

Anyways, omgosh! I'm going back to school next week!!! AHHH! I'm going back August 17, and I honestly can't believe I'm going to high school! When are you going back? Is anyone else gonna be a freshie too? I'm really nervous but excited as well. Especially with all the clothing shopping. ^.^

So.... I've been watching a TON of fashion lookbooks for back to school but, there hasn't been a ton for ulzzang fashion- so I thought I'd share some cute ulzzang fashion for back to school!

1.) Statement Backpacks

I'm actually fan of versatile backpacks, you know colors like black or navy blue. But, soooo many people have the same backpack nowadays- so this year I got a Minty Blue colored backpack. I think statement backpacks are great cause you can be easily found in a crowd. If you're gonna be bold, I'd just recommend a solid color without any crazy print, like the one above- but, obvi you can choose whatever backpack you want tbh. :)

2.) Skirts, Definitely Underrated.

I don't know about where you live, but I just feel like skirts are kinda dying out a bit in the U.S- don't get me wrong! A TON of people wear skirts here, but I just feel like more teens like really short jean shorts better. I mean yeah, they are comfy, but skirts can be really comfy too! I wear dance shorts underneath my skirts haha. Plus, you're more likely not to get dress coded if you wear skirts! I personally won't wear skirts everyday, but once in a while will suffice. :)

3.) Oversized... Well, anything basically.

Yeah, okay- summer is still here, but fall isn't too far away! One of the main reasons I'm excited for fall is because, I can wear oversized sweaters! It's legit like wearing a blanket to school- WHO DOESN'T WANT THAT?!?!? >.< But, on more serious note I srsly have been obsessing over cream coloured sweaters- I know random, but still obsessing.

4.) Delicate Wrist Watches~

Okay, so I've NEVER been a fan of watches but, I feel like they are really in trend and I wanna get one sooo bad! >.< Not like one of those cheap plastic ones (although white may be ok) but, I think faux leather is a nice alternative- it looks very sleek, chic, and totally fits the whole "back to school vibe". :)

5.) Naeun's Fav Find:

This outfit! OMGOSH! It's so cute! I love the whole "laid back, girl next door" kinda feel too it. I love the layers of texture, and how warm this outfit would be in the fall time approaching. :) Plus, can we talk about how cute those boots are?!? I WANT THEM. Life Lately: Slighty Stressed & IN LOVE?!?

So.... recently life has been a little bit stressful. I mean I still haven't wrapped my head around the thought that I'm actually going to be a freshmen in high school- THIS FALL. I honestly feel like I'm still 5. Anyone else in the same boat?! It's just all hitting me so fast, I just wish it will slow down. I'm literally drowning in my own thoughts... Hey guys! How's it going?

This is like my 20th blog I started so, I'm super sorry for all the constant blog changes! But, I KNOW this blog is going to stay- FOR GOOD. :)

 All the blog templates I downloaded are kinda glitchy and really annoying so I just decided to customize my own on one of the templates Blogger provides.

To make it up, I'm going to answer some frequently asked questions about myself. So be prepared to learn more than you ever wanted to know about me.

LET'S START!

1.) What's your ethnicity/ background?

My dad is from the U.S and my mom is from Malaysia. My dad is half Korean (although later on my할머니  moved to Japan), half German. My mom is half Chinese- half Indian. So, I got quite the mix going on. :)

2.) Are you really 14? You look much younger.

Okay lah- you caught me. I'm actually 13 years and 11 months (bday is next month). hahaha. Srsly tho, I just put that I'm 14 cuz that was how old I was last year in Korean age. And since I'm turning 14 (in U.S age)  soon I just tell people I'm 14. However, I'm already 15 in Korean age. Your Korean age is the year it currently is minus the year your born in, plus one. I know, really confusing. Sum it up I really am an '02 liner tho okay!

3.) Where are you from?

I'm from the United States. However when you meet me irl you'll find that I have a very slight Manglish (Malaysian English) accent due to the fact my mom was the one who taught me more of my English.

4.) Wah such an exotic person! How many languages do you speak?
Unfortunately I only speak English fluently. My mom didn't really want to teach me Malay or Hokkien for some reason but, I can still say a few words in Hokkien and in Malay. As for other languages, I can understand Mandarin fairly well and Korean too. But, I still speak like a baby for both matters. :P

5.) You look really familiar. Are you a kpop trainee?
Hahaha. nooooooo. Many people in Korea have the same name. ex. Me and APRIL's  Lee Naeun. Is that why you're confused? I have never been a trainee in Korea.

6.) You're still a good dancer tho! Will you ever audition?
 Ehh, not really. :/ I honestly don't know. I would like to since I like to rap a lot and dance. But, after extensive kpop fangirl research I found that I'm actually kinda over the weight limit a lot of companies have set out. Plus, it can cost a lot to be a trainee. But, if some miracle occurs than yeah, I'd like to audition. :)

7.) Cool! So, is Naeun your birth name?
My birthname is Natasha. I go by Asha tho at school. Naeun is a "made up Korean name".

8.) How'd you get the name tho?
Man, you don't want to start.

9.) Can you please "explain" your name? It's kinda confusing.

You don't want to start this either. Though, I guess I'll just walk you thru the multiple names/nicknames I have/had.

NATASHA: My birth name. No further explanation.
SHASHA: For some reason my 할머니 can't pronounce Natasha.
XIAXIA: My nickname in Chinese. ^^
TASHA: Took off the "Na''.
ASHA: The letters just keep coming off. I now go by this name in school.
FEIFEI: My little bro started calling me "Fifi" (idek) when I was 8, my mom now calls me by this name.

JOY: I went by this name for a short period of time. I really like Park Joy of Red Velvet and we act similarly so, I went by this name for awhile.
NANA: (nah-nah) Brought back the ''Na". This name can be both Japanese and Korean- so I still go by this name too. Some of y'all can't pronounce Naeun so I don't mind if you call me Nana.
NAEUN: (nah-uhn) Is the name I prefer. My friend SooJung gave me this name cuz my personality is like Apink's  Son Naeun. We both have an immense love for meat and like to draw and dance I guess. It's like an "unofficial Korean name" for me. Plus, my 할머니 can pronounce this name!


10.) Still kinda confusing. But, cool. So, what do you blog about?
Crap mostly. But, I also like to blog about fashion/beauty and shit that goes on in my life. I also like kpop (obvi) and will probably become your bestie when it comes to Asian beauty and anything Korean. So, stay tuned!
