Beauty Basics: 5 Tips for Beginners!

Hello everyone! Hope all has been well! ♥

For me, I'm enjoying my summer vacation! Yay! If your still in school, I'm sending you a huge hug! Hang in there girl! For me, summer seriously flies by soo fast and before you know it school just slaps you in the face! #nofun

BUT, we have to make the BEST of summer right? And I know I'm going to be experimenting with my makeup routine quite a bit for the perfect look for my freshmen year!

I realized that some of my blog readers might be new to makeup so today I'll be dedicating this post to you! Soo.. here are 5 tips for any makeup newbies out there! ♥

1.) BB Cream is your BFF!

I have an infinite love for bb creams cuz they just do wonders for your skin! There are loads of bb creams out on the market so, you'll definitely be able to find one suitable for your skin. They're usually very light (not cakey) and give great coverage too! That's why BB Creams are great for everyday use. I only use regular foundation for special occasions.

In America, I have a little bit more trouble finding cc creams but, believe me bb creams are great too! For beginners I'd recommend just getting drugstore products when you're starting out cuz they are just as good as the high end stuff. You can always add on to your makeup collection later. ;)

2.) Powder is always a good idea

Pressed powder is the stuff that keeps your face from looking oily and can help set your makeup. ALWAYS use powder when you use any type of foundation or bb cream on your face. This helps prevent your face from having your makeup melt off throughout the day and looking cakey.

My all-time fav powder to use is the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Translucent. It gets the job done and costs less than $5!!! :)

3.) ONLY Use Waterproof Mascara!

Okay, so I started using basic makeup products towards the end of seventh grade (around last year) and I made the rookie mistake of buying a non-waterproof mascara. And at the end of the day I looked like a panda which is not cute. So, use water-proof mascara! Mascara is something I recommend for all makeup newbies cuz it's so simple to use! And can bring a little bit of attention to your eyes! :)

4.) Tinted Lip Balms #YAS

Lipsticks are fun and all but, for the basics: tinted lip balms are a great start! They aren't too overwhelming and adds a bit of color to your lips. My fav is baby lips cuz their just so fun! I mean can we talk about how cute the packaging is?!?!

5.) Don't Over Do your Brows

I know you have seen those pics of girls on Instagram with thick, bold eyebrows that are "on fleek", but honestly I just fill in my eyebrows a tiny bit to define them- that's all! You don't need to over do it at all. A key rule to makeup is that a little goes a long way.

There are different ways to fill in your brows. The most common ways are filling them with powder + angled brush or brow pencil. I personally like straight eyebrows since they give a bit of an innocent look and suit me best. But, you can experiment with your brows to find what suits you. :)

♡ ♡ ♡
So, yeah! I hope this blog post was helpful and let me know what you'd like to see next! Makeup is all about having fun and enhancing your natural beauty. Never feel like you HAVE to use makeup cuz all of your friends and peers use makeup or your "too ugly" so you "must wear makeup". Please remember you're beautiful inside and out!

Love,
